PBIT (Power-on Built-In Test) and MBIT (Maintenance Built-In Test) are both types of
Built-In Self-Test (BIST) mechanisms used in engineering, particularly in avionics and high-reliability systems, to detect faults without external equipment.

PBIT (Power-on Built-In Test): A set of diagnostic tests that run immediately when the system is powered up or restarted.
MBIT (Maintenance Built-In Test): A detailed, often user-initiated, test used to isolate faults or review logs.
